WESTPORT — Gail Andrea (Cosmos) Gonsalves, of Westport, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in management on Dec. 10, 2011 at Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) in Quincy.
One of three recipients of an ENC scholarship that covered half her tuition, Gonsalves completed her degree in just over two years. As a student in ENC's Adult Studies Division, she was able to take ENC courses on the Bristol Community College campus, who partners with ENC in this program.
Gonsalves received an Outstanding Undergraduate Award and was enrolled in ENC's LEAD Program, an intensive continuing education program for working adults. She was also inducted into the Phi Delta Lambda National Nazarene Honor Society, awarded to students who are in the top 15 percent of their graduating class.
For the past seven years, she has worked full time as the operations manager at Ready to Learn Providence, a school readiness agency, and is a member of Sheldon Street Church in Providence, R.I., and the Board of Directors of the Cape Verdean Recognition Committee, Inc. She is married to Lawrence (Larry) Gonsalves.
Eastern Nazarene College is a four-year liberal arts college supported by the Church of the Nazarene. At its December graduation the school awarded 92 master's, bachelor's and associate's degrees.
